Fair Trade fashion brought to new heights

There are few places on earth that contain more surprising contrasts, more contradictions, more unexpected beauty and irrepressible style than the South African townships.

These unique designs have been created out of a true fascination and inspiration for the colours, the textures, the patterns, the originality, ingenuity and the flair that surround everyday life there.

A talented team of designers from Paris led by Nicole-Marie worked hard to achieve an authentic result. Working from sampled colours and textures, they duplicated recurring shapes and patterns, drawing from the vibrant interiors that are the heart of the shantytowns. Playing with the different elements over and over again, they eventually translated the unique and raw originality into an expressive blend of pattern and colour infused with energy.

Nicole-Marie knew they had achieved their goal, when she overheard a women exclaiming, “It feels like home!”

We hope you enjoy how our range of products display that township energy, or why not visit our in-house seamstress, to explore your own ideas and other possibilities this vibrant range of fabrics has to offer.
